Visit Hilo: Van Vietnamese Cuisine

I've passed by Van Vietnamese Cuisine many times and finally decided to try it after seeing how some people mentioned in an FB group that they have great Bahn Mis.

Spring Rolls
I was always under the impression that Spring Rolls were fried and Summer Rolls were not, but the Spring Rolls on the menu were unfried.  I did like the accompanying peanut sauce.

Van Special
The Van Special included pate, pork ham, mayo, cucumber, pickled carrots, and daikon.  My friend thought it lacked flavor, but the loved the bread.
Pho Eye Round

My friend said the pho was good, but lacked dimension compared to other spots' pho.  He did appreciate the amount of garnishes, however.
Grilled Chicken Bahn Mi

I wasn't expecting the chicken to be shredded, but the sandwich was tasty, and I too loved the bread.
