Visit Utah: Antelope Island State Park

We arrived in Salt Lake City at 530am, and we were looking for something to do since we had several hours to kill before check-in.

We decided upon Antelope Island, since it involved driving through scenic views and not needing to leave our vehicle (since it was cold and we had our carry-ons with us).
It's an enormous park that takes you along the Great Salt Lake with snow-capped mountains in view.

As one would guess, antelopes can be found on the island, but we didn't see any.

We did, however, see another animal that Antelope Island is popular for - bison!

There are bison signs all throughout Antelope Island, but we saw most of them near the Bison Corral.

We made sure to stay a very safe distance away, always in the car, as when the bison are aggravated or threatened, they could charge, and can run as fast as 40mph!

There are lots of trails throughout Antelope Island, but it was way too cold for us to explore any of them.  There are also picnic areas and campsites.

It was a great place to explore, even if only by car.  The scenery was just beautiful, and seeing the bison was pretty neat!

Note: There is an admission fee per vehicle.
