Visit Utah: Donut Falls Snow Play

On our first full day in Utah, one of my kids wanted to build a snowman.  So, I Googled Snow Parks, and found out about the Donut Falls Sledding area in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

We actually lucked out finding it, as we parked where there were several other cars parked, as families were walking with sleds.

We simply followed the crowds to a sledding area, then found a spot out of the way to build a snowman!

We knew from previous experience how difficult it could be to build a snowman, and it took us about 90 minutes, especially since the snow wasn't soft.

There were lots of people sledding.  I personally thought the hill was steep, and just the thought of having to walk back up each time made me tired, but we saw a number of kids having a blast sledding.

The area is called Donut Falls because there is a trail to the actual Donut Waterfall.  I noticed some people went on to the trail, but we did not want to hike in the cold and deep snow, especially in an unfamiliar area.

It was a fun morning of snow play!

Note: There are restrooms.
