Onoya Ramen - Kapahulu

Onoya Ramen, known for its wide variety of flavorful ramen dishes, has become a go-to spot for both ramen lovers and those looking for a more casual, family-friendly dining experience. Their first location on Kapahulu Avenue has already built a loyal following, and with the recent opening of their second location on King Street—where Sanoya once stood—it’s clear that Onoya is quickly becoming a local favorite.

The new South King Street location is bright and spacious, a perfect place to enjoy a bowl of ramen. It's especially welcoming during the day, with plenty of natural light streaming in. However, parking can be a challenge, as the restaurant shares a lot with Mr. Ojisan, a popular spot for lunch, and other small businesses on the second floor. Expect to circle the neighborhood a few times to find a spot, due to no parking in the back of the restaurant, especially during peak hours.

While Onoya Ramen offers a variety of flavorful ramen options, what really stands out to me are their kids meals. These kid’s meals are perfect for lunch, with portions that are just right—not too large to leave you feeling overly full, but enough to satisfy your hunger without the dreaded “kanack attack” later. Plus, there’s no age limit to ordering these meals, which is fantastic for anyone looking for a lighter option.

The kid's ramen meal is a great choice for those who want something a little more substantial, but the kid's curry rice set takes the crown for a more filling option. If you’re thinking of ordering a keiki meal for yourself or your little one, just keep in mind that the curry rice set will keep you fuller for longer compared to the ramen meal.

For those following a plant-based diet, Onoya Ramen has you covered! They offer several vegan ramen options that pack all the flavor without any animal products.

Whether you’re coming for the traditional ramen, a lighter keiki meal, or a vegan-friendly bowl, Onoya Ramen provides a cozy, spacious setting perfect for a casual meal with family or friends.
