Visit Hilo: Lokahi Local Eats

Lokahi Local Eats opened up in the Prince Kuhio Plaza a few months ago, so we picked up dinner there after I arrived in Hilo one evening.
Chicken Cutlet
I ordered the Chicken Cutlet, and I really liked it.  I appreciated that it was "real" chicken katsu, unlike many spots in Hilo that use those pre-frozen, pre-cooked, pre-breaded chicken patties and try to pass them off as "chicken katsu."  The chicken was juicy and they gave ample gravy (next time I'm going to ask for it on the side).  I liked the mac salad too - it was tasty and not just over slathered with mayo.
Kalua & Cabbage
My co-worker thought the kalua was a bit underseasoned, but he said it was cooked really well.
Mini Roast Pork
We were both pleasantly surprised with how much we liked the food, and we both are eager to visit again!
